    Becoming a member of Hao-mandarin Talks is simple and straightforward. To join Hao-mandarin Talks, simply visit our website and click on the "Sign up free" button. You will then be prompted to create an account by providing your email address, and creating a password. You will receive a verification email to activate your account. It is all done here and welcome to join us!!
  • How do I apply for an online tutoring service in Hao-mandarin Talks?
    You will need to sign up in the Hao-mandarin Talks firstly. (For those who haven't sign up as free members yet, please see the instructions for free membership registration first.) Click on the "Log In" text in the top right corner of the homepage. At the bottom of the new sign up screen, click on the text that says "Already a member? Log In." This will take you to the login screen, where you could log in using the email and password you registered with. ************************************************* Once you log in, you'll be taken back to the homepage. You can tell if you are logged in by seeing your name (nickname) displayed in the top right corner. (If you are not logged in, it will still display "Log In.") Once you have determined the plan that suits you, you can click the "Subscribe Now" button anywhere on the website to proceed. This will take you to the application screen. If this is your first time applying, you will be taken to the new application registration screen, where you should fill in the necessary information. Don't forget to check the box agreeing to the terms of use. Then click the "Submit" button to send your application. Next, you will be taken to the "Choose your plan" screen, where you can choose the plan that suits you. Most credit cards are accepted, and if you want to use PayPal, please select PayPal as your payment method. Once you click the "Purchase" button, your plan application will be complete. Finally, you will see a payment confirmation screen, and you will receive an email with the subject "Thank you for your subscription" to the registered email address. Please check the email as it will contain the name of the plan you applied for and the monthly amount. With this, your subscription process is complete.   • How are the sessions conducted at Hao-mandarin Talks?
    At Hao-mandarin Talks, our online tutoring sessions are conducted via Zoom, a secure and user-friendly video conferencing platform. Our experienced tutors use interactive tools and resources to engage students and ensure an effective learning experience. Each session is tailored to the individual needs and learning style of the student, providing personalized attention and support. Additionally, we offer flexible scheduling options to accommodate our students' busy lives, ensuring easy access to the academic help you need to succeed. You will receive a booking confirmation email stating the time you booked. Additionally, you will receive a Zoom link notification email from your assigned tutor. This email will contain the Zoom link, meeting room ID, and meeting room password. Please click the Zoom link when the session starts. If you do not receive the Zoom link notification email at least 3 hours before the session, please contact service@hao-mandarin.com for further assistance.
  • Is it okay if I'm completely new to learning Mandarin Chinese?
    Absolutely! At Hao-mandarin Talks, we welcome students of all levels, including complete beginners. Our online Taiwan Mandarin tutoring service is designed to cater to learners at every stage of their Mandarin learning journey. Our experienced tutors are skilled at providing customized lessons that are tailored to each student's proficiency level, ensuring that even those who are new to learning Mandarin Chinese feel supported and motivated throughout their language learning experience.   • Can I take sessions continuously for 40 minutes or 60 minutes?
    At Hao-mandarin Talks, we offer flexibility in our Taiwan Mandarin tutoring sessions, allowing students to book 2, 3 or more consecutive sessions based on their preferences and learning needs. Whether you opt for a 20-minute session for a quick practice or 2 or 3 sessions in a row for a more in-depth lesson, our experienced tutors will customize the content and pacing to ensure a productive and effective learning experience. We believe in providing tailored learning solutions to best meet the individual needs of our students, and our flexible session times reflect this commitment to personalized education.
  • How should I prepare the textbook?
    To get the most out of your mandarin tutoring session with Hao-mandarin Talks, we recommend preparing your textbook by familiarizing yourself with the lesson material beforehand. However if you do not have any familiar textbook, Hao-mandarin Talks is offering standard textbooks which are all available for free download. After purchasing any of the plans, please log in to your account. In members area, you will find "My Account" page, in the lefthand side there is a button for "Textbook Download." Click on that button to access a list of available textbooks. You can certainly review the available textbooks and specify the one you'd like to use with your tutor in advance. But if you're unsure, you are free to talk to your tutor during the first lesson and ask tutor to recommend you a suitable textbook based on your proficiency level. Lastly, don't hesitate to ask questions and seek clarification during your lessons to make the most out of your online learning experience with Hao-mandarin Talks.
  • If my child is elementary school student, could he or she apply for the sessions?
    Yes, at Hao-mandarin Talks, we welcome elementary school students to apply for our online Taiwan Mandarin Tutoring Service. Our experienced tutors are skilled in catering to students of all ages, including elementary school students. We offer tailored lesson plans and teaching methods that are appropriate for the learning needs and abilities of younger learners. Our goal is to provide a positive and effective learning experience for students at all levels, including elementary school students, to help them develop and improve their Mandarin language skills.
  • Is monthly enrollment required?
    No, monthly enrollment is not required. Your plan, once subscribed, will continue to the next month unless you specifically stop the renewal. The initial subscription period is from the date of your application to the same date of the following month. If there is no such date in the next month, it will be set to the end of the month. For example, if you applied on August 31st, your renewal date for September will be the 30th. Subsequent renewals will occur on the same day of the month as the previous month's renewal. If you do not wish to continue, please cancel the subscription in "My Subscription" in your member area page at anytime.
  • I have used up all the monthly plan sessions. Can I apply for the same plan again with additional sessions?
    If you have used all the sessions allocated for your plan, you will not be able to book additional sessions until the next renewal date. At that time, a new set of sessions according to your plan will be granted. If you wish to book sessions before the next renewal date, you have the option to purchase the same plan again or choose an another plan. However, please make sure to CANCEL your previous plan in the "My Subscription" page in the member area. Otherwise, your previous plan will be automatically renewed and charged as before. Please note: The system does not automatically cancel your previous subscription when you purchase a new plan. To avoid being charged for both plans, please ensure you cancel your previous subscription, as refunds will not be issued for un-canceled subscriptions. After purchasing a new plan, the renewal cycle will start again from the moment of your new purchase.
  • How to book a session in Hao-mandarin Talks?
    Here are the booking steps for Hao-mandarin Talks: From the "Book a Session", click the "Book Now" button in the section corresponding to the plan you have purchased. On the left, select your preferred tutor from the filter options. Next, choose a date. You can only select dates with a darker color; lighter dates are not available. Click on the date you want to book. After selecting a date, available lesson times will be displayed. Choose your preferred time and click on it, then press the "Next" button. Enter your nickname and email address. Your registered email address should already be filled in. Other fields are optional, so you can leave them blank. Once you've filled in the information, click the "Book Now" button to complete your booking. You will receive a confirmation email for your booking. Before the lesson starts, you will receive an email from your assigned tutor with instructions on how to connect via Zoom. If you haven't received the Zoom connection instructions from your tutor at least 3 hours before the lesson starts, please contact service@hao-mandarin.com. We look forward to seeing you soon in the lesson!
  • When is the deadline for using the monthly session credits?
    At Hao-mandarin Talks, we understand the value of flexibility and busy schedules. Our monthly sessions are valid for 30 days from the date of purchase till one day before the renewal date, providing ample time for our students to schedule and enjoy their lessons at their own pace. Whether you prefer to have multiple sessions in a week or spread them out over the month, the choice is yours. We want to ensure that you have the opportunity to make the most out of your learning experience with us. For example, if you purchase the Standard Plan with 20 available sessions on April 10th, your next renewal date will be on May 10th. This means you can book up to 20 sessions until May 9th. Any sessions not used within 30 days will expire and cannot be carried over to the following month.
  • What are the benefits of continuously renewing my subscription?
    The original effective duration is 30 days, but if the renewal of your subscription plan is not cancelled, you are offered the benefits to book sessions beyond your renewal date. Since you can book sessions up to 14 days in advance, let's say if your renewal date of a "Standard Plan (20 session credits)"is May 10th, you can actually schedule sessions for May 23rd on May 9th, even though your renewal date is on May 10th. After your plan is renewed, you will be granted another 20 session credits, but the sessions booked before the plan renewal will not be affected. However, please note that in the scenario mentioned above, if you book a session for May 23rd on May 9th, you can only make changes to the time; cancellations will not be allowed. Additionally, if you have already cancelled your subscription, means you have stopped the next plan renewal, you won't be able to book sessions beyond the renewal date. In other words, in the example given, booking sessions for May 23rd on May 9th is only possible if you haven't stopped the renewal scheduled for May 10th.
  • I want to change my credit card. What should I do?
    To update your credit card information for your Taiwan Mandarin tutoring services with Hao-mandarin Talks, simply log in to your account on our website and navigate to the member area page "My Subscription" section. From there, you can easily update your credit card details by entering the new card information and saving the changes. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer support team, who will be happy to help you through the process. At Hao-mandarin Talks, we strive to provide convenient and flexible payment options for our valued customers, and we are committed to assisting you with any account updates or inquiries. You can update your credit card as follows: Go to "My Subscription." Click on the mountain icon at the right end of your active plan. Underneath, you will see "Update Payment Method" underlined. Click on that link, and underneath your current credit card information, select "Credit Card/Debit Card." Enter the details of your new card, including the card number. This will allow you to update your credit card without affecting your current plan. Attention: When you need to change your credit card information for your subscription, you can only renew your credit card information in "My Subscription" section but NOT in "My Wallet" section.
  • What happens if I'm late for a lesson?
    At Hao-mandarin Talks, we understand that unexpected situations can arise, leading to lateness for a scheduled lesson. If you find yourself running late, please notify your tutor as soon as possible. Your tutor will wait for up to 10 minutes after the scheduled start time, and the lesson will proceed for the remaining duration. If you are more than 10 minutes late without prior notice, the lesson will be canceled and counted as one session credit. We kindly ask that you make every effort to be punctual to make the most of your valuable tutoring time. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in ensuring a productive and fulfilling learning experience with Hao-mandarin Talks.
  • Is it possible to change my plan?
    Yes, it is possible to change your plan with Hao-mandarin Talks. We understand that your needs may change over time, and we want to ensure that you have the flexibility to find the right plan for you. To change your plan, you will need to purchase the new plan which you want to upgrade or downgrade. After you purchase the new plan you want, please do NOT forget to cancel your previous plan subscription. For an easier purchasing to a new plan you need, please go to the "Book a Session" page and proceed to book a session clicking the new plan you'd like to switch to. You will see a message prompting you to purchase the new plan, then please follow the instructions to complete the purchase. Please note that the new plan's 30 days renewal cycle will start from the date of your new purchase. We kindly request that you complete this process before the day that your old plan is set to renew, ideally at least 2 days before. You can continue to use the old plan until its expiration date while the new plan is active. Our customer service team will be happy to assist you, please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions.
  • Is it possible to make a lump-sum payment in advance?
    We are sorry that Hao-mandarin Talks basically cannot accept an one-time payment. As we are running our platform on a monthly automatic renewal system through credit cards, and issue new session credits to each plan after confirming the payment. If you are on behalf of a company or government organization, please reach out to our customer service team service@hao-mandarin.com , we will try to offer a solution to fit your needs.   • How can I stop my plan subscription with Hao-mandarin Talks?
    If you wish to stop your plan subscription with Hao-mandarin Talks, you can easily do so by following these steps: 1. Log in to your Hao-mandarin Talks account on our website. 2. Navigate to the "My Subscriptions" section in member area. 3. Select the plan that you wish to cancel and click on the "Cancel Subscription" button. 4. Follow the prompts to confirm the cancellation of your plan subscription. Please note that once you cancel your plan subscription, you will still have access to our services until the end of your current billing cycle. When you wish to cancel your plan, please complete the process at least one week before the renewal date. If you encounter any issues with the cancellation process, please feel free to contact our support team service@hao-mandarin.com .
